How To Calculate Spacer Length

One of the key attributes to proper installation is calculating the required spacer length. This is a relatively easy process once you’ve gathered the required information. Our standard track and spacer lengths are designed to meet your needs. For stock items, the standard spacer length is 1-1/8” which fits most 1- ¾” door systems.For customized solutions, the required spacer length should be calculated as follows for a #142 track (standard door size/weight):

Formula : Door thickness + casing – 5/8” = required spacer length

    • Door Thickness
    • 2-3/8"
    • Door Casing
    • +        3/4"
    • Spacer Adjustment
    • -         5/8"
  •  
    • Total Thickness
    • 2 -1/2" required spacer length
